Focus on kin as probe begins

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 22: An intensive investigation has been launched into a bizarre incident in the first place to find out why a young woman threw herself from the second floor window of her house, reports Al-Anba daily. According to security sources initial report shows the woman was locked inside a room on the second floor of the house and the members of her family allegedly refused to treat her for her injuries and even went to the extent of refusing to allow her to receive treatment in hospital for the injuries she had sustained.

According to the same sources, the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received a report on the incident police and paramedics rushed to the spot and upon their arrival they discovered the 20-yearold woman was locked inside a room and when she attempted to escape by jumping from the second floor she hurt herself.

The source added the security and medical emergency personnel were surprised when some relatives attempted to prevent the woman from being taken to the hospital for treatment. The woman has been admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital under police guard. She is reportedly bleeding from the head and suffers from broken pelvis, crack in the right foot and sporadic bruising
