KUWAIT CITY, Sept 13: Authorities have opened an investigation into a brawl between a Kuwaiti citizen and an Egyptian expatriate that reportedly began in Khaitan and ended with both men being taken to Farwaniya Hospital with injuries.

According to a security source, the Egyptian expatriate was taken to the hospital by ambulance after sustaining a laceration to his left arm. In his statement, he claimed that he had been stabbed and accused the young Kuwaiti of being involved in the altercation.

The Kuwaiti was also examined at the hospital, where his medical report showed severed tendons in his hand. The conflicting accounts and injuries prompted authorities to investigate the circumstances of the altercation and determine how the dispute began and who initiated the assault.

The Public Prosecution ordered the registration of a case and requested a police investigation to establish the sequence of events, determine the role of each party and identify responsibility for the injuries. Police have begun investigations into the incident.
