KUWAIT CITY, July 18 Kuwait’s Ministry of Health announced on Friday that the World Health Organization (WHO) has designated Kuwait’s Medical Responsibility Authority (AMR) as a WHO Collaborating Centre for Medical Responsibility. In a statement, the Ministry said the designation enables AMR to join the WHO network of collaborating centres and participate in international initiatives focused on training, research, capacity building, and the development of policies and best practices in medical responsibility.
The four-year designation will facilitate international cooperation in strengthening institutional capacity, exchanging expertise, advancing evidence- based policies, and promoting best practices. The Ministry described the recognition as a significant milestone that will further support collaboration with global partners to enhance knowledge and expertise in the field of medical responsibility. Established in 2020, the AMR is an independent government body responsible for medical and allied health professions across both the public and private sectors in Kuwait. The Authority is mandated to provide expert technical opinions on matters referred to it through complaints, reports, investigations, and legal proceedings involving allegations of medical errors and professional misconduct.
