A few months back, WhatsApp introduced the live channel feature allowing users to connect with their favorite creators, celebrities, and organizations without the need for a phone number. However, since the launch of this new channel feature, WhatsApp users have encountered difficulties in viewing status updates.
For those connected to any channel, navigating to the status tab reveals all statuses aligned horizontally at the top. This linear arrangement poses challenges for users, making it confusing to distinguish between viewed statuses, muted ones, and recent updates. To address this issue, WhatsApp is actively developing a new feature that provides users with the option to filter statuses. The upcoming feature will present users with filtering options at the top, including All, Recent, Viewed, and Muted.
Under the "All" section, users will be able to view the statuses of all their contacts. The "Recent" tab will display recently posted status updates by contacts, while the "Viewed" section will showcase statuses that users have already seen. Additionally, the "Muted" tab will present muted statuses. This feature aims to benefit users connected to channels who previously struggled to manage their status updates effectively.
Presently, the company has rolled out this update for Android beta testers, with plans to make it available to all users in the near future. If you're eager to be among the first to experience WhatsApp's latest updates, consider enrolling in the company's beta program.
