Welsh singer Charlotte Church commits to singing for Palestine

LONDON, Nov 18, (Agencies): Welsh singer and songwriter Charlotte Church expressed her support for the Palestinian people in a recent Instagram video. Urging her followers to watch footage from Gaza and the West Bank, she emphasized the need to amplify Palestinian voices during what she referred to as a “genocide happening in front of all of our eyes.”

Church, visibly emotional, called on viewers not to look away and to raise their voices against the geopolitical situation affecting children. Additionally, she announced plans to offer weekly singing sessions starting on Nov. 20 for the liberation of Palestine and its people.

The video comes in the wake of the recent conflict, with over 11,250 Palestinians reportedly killed, including at least 4,630 children, since the attack on Israel by the Hamas militant group on Oct. 7. Israel’s actions, including attacks on hospitals, have drawn global condemnation, with concerns raised by UN experts about the failure of the international system to mobilize and prevent genocide.
