KUWAIT CITY, Oct 16: The Meteorological Department has forecast hot daytime temperatures and moderate nights with a chance of dust over the weekend, Acting Director Dhirar Al-Ali said Thursday.
Kuwait is currently influenced by an extension of a high-pressure system from the northwest, bringing hot, dry air accompanied by light to moderate northwesterly winds. These winds are expected to occasionally stir dust in open areas and cause high sea waves at varying intervals.
Thursday’s weather will be hot with northwesterly to variable winds blowing at speeds between 8 and 35 kilometers per hour. Maximum temperatures are forecast between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius. The sea will see light to moderate waves ranging from one to four feet.
Tonight, conditions will be moderate with variable northwesterly winds at 8 to 30 kilometers per hour. Minimum temperatures are expected between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius, with light to moderate sea waves of one to three feet.
On Friday, hot weather will persist with northwesterly to northerly winds, sometimes active, blowing between 8 and 42 kilometers per hour. Dust is likely in open areas. Temperatures will reach 36 to 38 degrees Celsius, with sea waves ranging from one to five feet.
Friday night will bring moderate weather with northwesterly to variable winds between 8 and 28 kilometers per hour. Minimum temperatures are forecast between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius. Sea waves will remain light to moderate at one to three feet.
Saturday is expected to be hot, with northwesterly winds blowing between 10 and 45 kilometers per hour, occasionally active, and dust possible in open areas. Maximum temperatures will rise to between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius. The sea will be light to moderate, with waves sometimes reaching two to six feet.
Saturday night will see moderate weather with variable northwesterly winds at 8 to 28 kilometers per hour. Minimum temperatures will range from 21 to 23 degrees Celsius, with light to moderate sea waves of one to three feet.
