Wedding halls in Kuwait under scrutiny

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 16: To ensure fairness and prevent manipulation, the Ministry of Social Affairs has issued a circular regulating wedding hall reservations. According to the circular, wedding hall reservations may not be transferred to another person under any circumstances. If a reservation holder wishes to cancel, the booking will be officially voided and the paid amount refunded in accordance with the ministry’s approved procedures and regulations. This is aimed at streamlining operations and preventing exploitation of the reservation system. Field inspection teams, comprising both male and female personnel, will be formed to verify that the individual who made the reservation is the same person hosting the event and to ensure full compliance with all regulations and instructions.

The ministry emphasized in the circular the absolute prohibition of requesting or collecting any money in exchange for transferring a reservation or facilitating the use of the halls, considering this a serious violation. It stated that strict legal measures will be taken, without leniency, against anyone found to be involved in manipulation or the unlawful collection of funds, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. In the event of any reports, individuals are requested to contact the designated number via WhatsApp at 22484531, with full confidentiality guaranteed for all informers
