RIYADH, July 13: Security authorities in the Qassim region of Saudi Arabia have launched a field campaign to enforce public decency regulations. As part of this effort, several individuals were issued fines for wearing "sleepwear" in public spaces—an act deemed inappropriate under the Kingdom’s public decency laws.
According to the guidelines enforced in Saudi Arabia, wearing attire considered unsuitable for public appearance, such as sleepwear, constitutes a breach of public conduct rules.
First-time offenders face fines of up to SAR 100, while repeat offenders can face penalties of up to SAR 200. The campaign reflects the government’s commitment to promoting respectful and culturally appropriate behavior in public areas. Authorities urged residents and visitors to adhere to the regulations to avoid penalties and maintain the decorum of public spaces.
