KUWAIT CITY, Nov 16: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have arrested a Kuwaiti and a bedoun, who were seen a few days ago, leaving the house of a Kuwaiti after stealing a bicycle, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, during the interrogations the suspects have admitted to committing 35 cases in the governorates of Hawalli, Farwaniya and the Capital, but surprisingly only five thefts were reported to the police stations in the area.

A security source said most of the people preferred not to file complaints because some felt maybe it was a waste of time or the stolen items were not expensive, such as gas cylinders, bicycles, etc. It is noteworthy to mention during investigations the suspects said they committed thefts to fulfill their simple needs (to buy narcotics) because they are jobless and had no money.

According to a security source, the arrest came when the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received a call from one of the building guards that a woman was caught for stealing a bicycle which was in front of one of the apartments of the building. When a patrol moved to the site, she said her bedoun boyfriend who is a drug addict wanted money to buy drugs and said he was waiting for her at the corner of a building, but seeing police he had escaped from the area only to be caught later.
