KUWAIT CITY, Jan 29: Minister of Health Dr Khaled Al-Saeed said studies show that the danger posed by mentally challenged individuals to society is the same as those who are mentally healthy, reports Al-Qabas daily. The minister made the statement in response to the query of MP Bader Al-Humaidi. He explained that the Ministry of Health is not responsible for the administrative deportation of expatriates who have files in the Psychiatric Hospital.

According to the report of the concerned sector about expatriates who have files in the hospital, the number mentioned in the previous response to the query pertains to the expatriate files since the opening of the hospital in 1953. The number of active files of expatriates in the last five years – from 2016 to July 2021 – reached 7,622 , he added. Meanwhile, according to informed sources from the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Minister of Social Affairs and Community Development and the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Mubarak Al-Aro is in the process of issuing two ministerial decisions to refer a cooperative society in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate to the Public Prosecution, and another in Hawally Governorate to the Ministry of Interior’s General Department for Investigations, reports Aljarida daily.
