‘We are well prepared to host Asian Boxing Champ’ship’

The boxing arena for Asian boxing championship to be hosted by Kuwait.

KUWAIT CITY, July 28: Kuwait Boxing Federation has concluded all preparations to host the Asian Boxing Championship, which will kick off on Aug 3 and end on Aug 9, under auspices of Kuwait Olympic Committee President Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad.

The continental championship will attract fierce competitions among 25 countries from various parts of Asia presenting 215 pugilists out of the 320 participating athletes. Contingents from the participating countries will start arriving on Tuesday and the point of convergence will be Kuwait Sports Club Hall.

Board Chairman of Kuwait Boxing Federation Mohammad Mansi Al-Enezi reiterated the full readiness to ensure that Kuwait hosts the best Asian championship so far. He went into details by specifying that all arrangements for transportation, media, accommodation and other relevant aspects have been put in place. He said the contingents will be housed in four hotels and the boxing ring has been prepared well with direct supervision from the Asian and international supervisors to ascertain the ring meets the international standards.

He added the Public Authority for Sports has been wonderful with strong backing to achieve the success. He commended Board Chairman of Kuwait Sports Club Khalid Al-Ghanim for making available all facilities in his club for use, saying this is a good example of positive collaboration between clubs and sport federations for the general interest of Kuwait.
