Three Kuwaiti citizens detained in Iraq along with falcons.
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 20: The Iraqi authorities continue to detain three Kuwaiti citizens for allegedly “violating hunting laws in the southern part of the country,” according to a statement from the Iraqi Ministry of Interior. Foreign Affairs Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya confirmed that the Kuwaiti Embassy in Baghdad is following up details of the arrest of three Kuwaiti citizens in Iraq, in coordination with Iraqi security authorities

In a statement to the newspaper, Al- Yahya affirmed that the Kuwaiti Embassy is in constant contact with the relevant authorities to determine the circumstances surrounding the case and ensure the safety of the citizens, stressing his ministry is committed to continue following up the case until all details are clarified. Earlier, the Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of three Kuwaiti citizens on charges of violating hunting regulations and conditions in Muthanna desert.
In a press statement, the ministry revealed “the Border Forces Command at the Ministry of Interior arrested three hunters of Kuwaiti nationality in Muthanna desert. The hunters were found in possession of three falcons used in hunting operations.
Results of the initial investigation revealed that they violated hunting regulations, instructions and the laws regulating the entry of foreign hunters and the practice of hunting within Iraqi territory.” It confirmed that legal action will be taken against the Kuwaiti hunters in accordance with the law, and that they will be referred to the competent authorities for further investigation.
