WATCH: 4 held, 5 vehicles impounded for reckless driving in Wafra, sent to crusher

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 24: Kuwait’s General Traffic Department has arrested four individuals accused of reckless driving and endangering the safety of road users in the Al-Wafra agricultural area, the Ministry of Interior said.

The arrests were carried out by the Security Control Department following information about a gathering allegedly planned for reckless and disorderly driving activities in the area.

Following search, investigation and surveillance operations, traffic security officers discovered that the vehicles allegedly used in the activities had been hidden inside several farms in Al-Wafra.

In cooperation with the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources, security personnel located and seized five vehicles and arrested the four suspects.

The Ministry said the necessary legal procedures were completed against the suspects before they were referred to the Central Prison.

The five vehicles were also impounded after legal procedures were completed. Video footage circulating from the operation shows the seized vehicles being transported to a vehicle crusher. The suspects face charges related to reckless driving, negligent driving, and endangering the safety of road users under Article 33 bis of the Traffic Law.

The General Traffic Department warned that anyone who endangers the lives or property of others will face the prescribed legal measures without leniency.

The department added that security monitoring and follow-up operations will continue to curb reckless driving and ensure the safety of all road users.
