KUWAIT CITY, Dec 10: The General Traffic Department has issued a warning concerning the proliferation of electronic panels affixed to the rear windows of vehicles, exhibiting offensive language and degrading images under the control of the vehicle's operator. Numerous complaints from citizens and residents prompted the alert, with reports of this peculiar phenomenon reaching the Traffic Operations Department. Major Abdullah Bu Hassan, the Officer of the Public Relations and Traffic Awareness Department, revealed that Major General Yousef Al-Kidama, the Director General of the General Traffic Department, swiftly addressed the issue upon receiving these reports.

According to Bu Hassan, electronic screens displaying content that violates public morals are strictly prohibited under traffic laws. These laws dictate that any vehicle found with unofficial writings, stickers, flags, pictures, or slogans indicating a class, sect, or group, excluding official symbols of the country and the flag of Kuwait, will face legal consequences. Bu Hassan emphasized that explicit instructions have been issued to patrols, directing them to seize any vehicle equipped with such electronic screens. The vehicle operator will be referred to the traffic police, and the vehicle itself will be impounded. Additionally, if the driver employs offensive language or displays images that breach public morals, they will face police station referral, with a case registered against them. Bu Hassan cautioned drivers against installing these panels, equating it to a traffic violation subject to strict enforcement measures.
