KUWAIT CITY, Dec 11: The Public Authority for Civil Information has issued an important advisory to all users of the “Kuwait Mobile ID” application, urging them to exercise caution when dealing with authentication requests. The authority emphasized that users must not approve any authentication prompt unless it is directly linked to an action they themselves initiated within the app or on a related service platform.
In its statement, the authority highlighted the growing need to protect personal data and prevent unauthorized access, noting that fraudulent or suspicious authentication attempts can pose serious risks to users’ digital security. It stressed the importance of carefully reviewing the details of any service provider requesting authentication, as well as understanding the purpose of the request, before approving.
The advisory aims to enhance user awareness and ensure the safe and secure use of the “My Identity” application, which plays a central role in digital verification processes across Kuwait. The authority reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding users’ information and encouraged the public to remain vigilant to avoid falling victim to misuse or cyber fraud.
