WASHINGTON, Aug 24: The United States is offering rewards of up to $10 million for information leading to the identification or location of senior commanders and key leaders of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), according to a US government reward notice.
The notice identifies five senior IRGC figures and says they command or direct various elements of the organization, which Washington accuses of planning, organizing and carrying out terrorism around the world.
Five IRGC Leaders NamedThe US reward notice identifies:
- Ahmad Vahidi — Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)
- Ali Abdollahi — Chief of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters
- Sa'id Aghajani — IRGC Aerospace Force UAV Commander
- Hamidreza Lashgarian — Chief of the IRGC Cyber-Electronic Command
- Majid Khademi — Commander of the IRGC Intelligence Organization
The US said it is also seeking information on other senior IRGC leaders and its component branches.
According to the notice, individuals providing information could be eligible for relocation assistance and a financial reward of up to $10 million, depending on the information provided and its value to US authorities.
The announcement represents another escalation in Washington’s pressure campaign against the IRGC and its senior leadership, as the United States seeks to disrupt the organization’s operations and international networks.
