KUWAIT CITY, April 26: What began as a routine drive through Jabriya escalated into a shocking act of violence, leaving an expatriate doctor injured and authorities racing to track down an unidentified attacker.
According to security sources, investigators at Jabriya Police Station have launched an urgent search for a suspect who allegedly assaulted a doctor working at Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital following a heated road dispute. The incident unfolded in Block 2 near the Cooperative Society roundabout—an area usually bustling with everyday life but now the focus of a criminal investigation.
The victim, a 1986-born expatriate, recounted a tense sequence of events. While driving through the neighborhood, he became involved in a verbal altercation with another motorist. Moments later, the situation spiraled out of control. The other driver allegedly forced him to pull over, stepped out, and physically attacked him before fleeing the scene.
“I was suddenly confronted and assaulted,” the doctor said, according to sources, describing how the confrontation turned violent without warning.
Despite the ordeal, the victim was unable to provide key identifying details. He could not recall the license plate number of the SUV involved, only its make and model—leaving investigators with limited initial leads. A preliminary medical report confirmed he suffered bruises and abrasions consistent with assault.
Authorities are now exploring all avenues to identify the suspect, with a strong possibility of reviewing surveillance footage from nearby cameras. Investigators hope CCTV evidence will help piece together the attacker’s movements and lead to his arrest.
The case has raised concerns over escalating road rage incidents, as officials work to ensure the suspect is brought to justice and held accountable for the brazen daytime assault.
