TAMPA, Jul 13: The U.S. military said it used unmanned sea drones in combat for the first time during strikes on Iran's Bandar Abbas Naval Base on Sunday.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said multiple one-way attack surface drones targeted a submarine and ship maintenance facility at the base, with three Corsair unmanned vessels striking the port.

According to CENTCOM, the operation marked the first combat use of sea drones by U.S. forces.

The command said the strikes degraded Iran's ability to launch attacks on commercial shipping, describing the targeted facilities as key naval infrastructure supporting Iranian maritime operations.
