DUBAI, May 22: Dubai Police has impounded a vehicle involved in dangerous stunt driving and serious traffic violations as part of ongoing efforts to maintain public safety and preserve peace in residential neighbourhoods. Authorities said the driver was caught performing reckless stunts, tyre screeching, and deliberately increasing vehicle noise levels in the Oud Al Muteena area, actions that endangered lives, disturbed residents, and damaged public property.
Brigadier Essam Ibrahim Al Awar said the driver was identified, summoned, and admitted to the violations, leading to the impoundment of the vehicle and legal action against him. He stressed that modified vehicles and stunt driving are not merely traffic violations but behaviours that negatively impact community comfort and road safety, particularly affecting children, the elderly, and residents in residential areas.
Dubai Police warned that such dangerous acts would face strict legal consequences under Local Decree No. 30 of 2023, which allows fines of up to AED 50,000 for the release of impounded vehicles involved in major violations. Authorities said traffic patrols and smart monitoring systems will continue to be intensified across roads and neighbourhoods, while urging motorists to follow traffic laws and report dangerous driving through the Dubai Police app or the “We Are All Police” service.
