KUWAIT CITY, March 15: For the first time in Kuwait, the Ministry of Health has started vaccinating people with allergies at the Kuwait Vaccination Center in Mishref, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources. Sources revealed the ministry took this step after conducting comprehensive studies on the effect of vaccines in the bodies of those with allergies and the absence of unexpected side effects. Sources said those with allergies were among the groups excluded from vaccination, but recent studies showed that vaccination is safe for them and there is no objection to them taking corona vaccines.

A huge turnout to receive the corona vaccine

Sources affirmed the pace of vaccination is accelerating daily due to the rising number of people registering for vaccination as a result of the public awareness campaign in this regard. Sources said all segments of the society can register to be vaccinated against covid-19, confirming there is no delay in setting vaccination appointments due to the sufficient supply of vaccines. Sources pointed out the vaccination of people with allergies is a preemptive step in the region, indicating that doctors attend to these people to determine their disease history and health status before vaccinating them in the rooms designated for vaccination or in the medical observation rooms.

Sources revealed these people are asked to stay in the waiting room for 15 to 30 minutes until it is confirmed that there is no side effect. Sources added the medical teams assigned at Kuwait Vaccination Center and Abdulaziz Al-Rashed Center for Allergy Diseases have coordinated their efforts to ensure the doctors and specialists are available to receive patients and ask them about their health condition before giving them the vaccine. Sources also stressed the need to expedite the vaccination process and to strictly comply with health regulations for the country to overcome the corona crisis. In a related development, sources said the eighth shipment of Pfizer vaccine arrived in the country recently and it was transported directly to Kuwait Vaccination Center.
