Speaking about the tourism landscape, he said Uzbekistan is one of the most vibrant destinations in Eurasia, where the richness of history blends with the dynamism of modernization, offering a unique model that attracts the attention of the international community, researchers, travelers and diplomats. He stressed that his country, which, for centuries, formed the heart of the Great Silk Road, is confidently transforming into a space of openness, cultural diversity, and innovative tourism. He added that every Uzbek city retains its distinct cultural character, while the tourism sector is undergoing extensive development, which ensures a balance between authenticity and the demands of comfort and quality. He disclosed that Samarkand, a symbol of spiritual grandeur and historical architecture, is now acquiring new dimensions through cultural and international projects, which have transformed it into a global center for conferences and cultural exchanges, particularly after hosting the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference.
“This event improved the diplomatic standing of the country and the quality of its tourism services. Bukhara, with its historical schools, fortresses and timeless Eastern atmosphere, embodies the enduring power of tradition to remain at the forefront of the cultural landscape, while Khwarezm stands as an open-air museum, preserving every detail of a heritage spanning thousands of years,” he added. He indicated that hosting major international events contributes to the development of transportation infrastructure, hotels and tourism-related services, making Uzbekistan a convenient and accessible destination year-round. His country is also working hard to build a sustainable tourism model by improving connectivity between cities, supporting local initiatives, developing its air infrastructure, and offering diverse travel options, including cultural tours, culinary tourism and high-level business trips. He affirmed that Uzbek cuisine, with its rich and layered flavors, has become a tourist destination in its own right, alongside traditional craft schools that continue to attract enthusiasts and collectors.
He stressed that the policy of openness plays a vital role in fostering cultural dialogue, explaining that his country relies on tourism as a tool to consolidate peace and strengthen mutual trust between peoples. He said Uzbekistan is one of the safest and most stable destinations in the region, with modern services including high-speed rail, hotels of all categories, tourist resorts, and digital services that provide a comfortable and enriching experience for visitors. “The country also boasts of a diverse climate that makes it accessible year-round, from the cool colors of spring to the desert landscapes of summer, from the vibrant hues of autumn to the tranquility of its historic cities during winter,” he concluded
