Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan, presents the 'Order of Friendship' to Captain Husain Al-Musallam.

TASHKENT, Jan 27: Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan, presented the “Order of Friendship” to Captain Husain Al-Musallam, President of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) and Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), during the 46th OCA General Assembly in Tashkent. The event was attended by presidents of Asian National Olympic Committees and other senior sports officials. The assembly also saw Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, elected as OCA President.

President Mirziyoyev said the award recognizes Al-Musallam’s longstanding efforts since 1993 to strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OCA, promote sports development across the country, implement joint programs effectively, and help train highly skilled athletes.

Al-Musallam expressed his gratitude to President Mirziyoyev and the Uzbek sports community, praising their support in ensuring the success of the 46th OCA General Assembly and achieving its objectives.
