TEHRAN, July 20: Several people were wounded after a U.S. strike targeted an area near the Silvaneh district outside Urmia in Iran’s West Azarbaijan Province early Monday, according to a provincial official.
The director general of crisis management in the province said the attack hit a location near Silvaneh during the early hours of the day. No further details were immediately provided on the number of casualties or the extent of the damage.
The reported strike came after claims that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had launched missiles from areas near Urmia in recent days.
Meanwhile, multiple locations in Bushehr city were also hit in U.S. strikes on Monday morning, according to the city’s governor. He said several sites were targeted and authorities were assessing the impact of the attacks.
Bushehr has reportedly been targeted multiple times over the past week as part of the latest wave of U.S. strikes against locations across Iran. Further details on the targets and casualties remain unclear.
