WASHINGTON/TEHRAN, July 9: The United States struck two railway bridges in northern Iran with cruise missiles on Wednesday, marking the first reported US attack on Iranian infrastructure since the April 8 ceasefire, according to Axios.

Axios reporter Barak Ravid, citing a US official, said the bridges were targeted during a broader wave of US military strikes against Iranian targets.

Separately, Iranian state media reported that two US projectiles struck a military base on the outskirts of Bushehr in southern Iran.

Citing local officials, Iranian media said the projectiles hit the base but caused no casualties. The deputy governor of Bushehr for political and security affairs said there were no injuries or fatalities resulting from the strike.

The reported attacks come amid escalating military tensions between the United States and Iran. Neither the US Department of Defense nor Iranian authorities immediately provided further details on the extent of the damage.
