TEHRAN, Jul 24: A US attack targeted an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy headquarters in Zibakenar, a coastal town in northern Iran, Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency reported on Friday.
The Gilan provincial government confirmed that the Hazrat Seyyed al-Shohada headquarters was hit in the strike, according to the report.
Preliminary assessments indicated that no casualties had been reported so far, the provincial government said.
The reported attack comes as tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to escalate, with both sides involved in a series of strikes and retaliatory operations across the region.
There was no immediate comment from US officials on the reported strike.
