As of today, CENTCOM forces have redirected 57 commercial vessels and disabled 4 to prevent the ships from entering or leaving Iranian ports.

TAMPA, May 8: The United States Central Command on Friday released new images of the guided-missile destroyers USS Truxtun, USS Rafael Peralta, and USS Mason, saying the vessels are now operating in the Arabian Sea in support of a naval blockade against Iran.

The announcement came a day after US officials said the three destroyers were attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, allegedly facing Iranian missile, drone, and small-boat assaults.

Earlier Friday, Iran’s army claimed it launched eight cruise missiles and 24 explosive drones at the US warships in the Strait of Hormuz, alleging that one missile and three drones struck their targets and caused fires aboard the vessels.

There was no immediate independent confirmation of the Iranian claims, while US authorities have not reported any damage or casualties involving the destroyers.
