US Revokes Visas of Iranians, Kuwaiti and Cubans Over Alleged Regime Ties

WASHINGTON, Aug 10: The Trump administration has revoked more than 175,000 visas issued to foreign nationals, including Iranians in the United States accused of having ties to the Islamic Republic, the US State Department said Monday.

The department said some visa cancellations were carried out on “foreign policy grounds”, including cases involving Iranian nationals allegedly linked to the Iranian government.

The State Department also cited visa revocations involving Cuban nationals with alleged connections to the communist government and a Kuwaiti national whom it accused of describing Americans as his “enemy” and expressing support for violence against President Donald Trump and US citizens.

The mass revocations are part of the administration’s broader efforts to tighten visa enforcement and remove individuals it considers to pose security or foreign-policy concerns.
