WASHINGTON, July 15: The United States said Wednesday that its military redirected two commercial vessels attempting to enter Iranian ports after the resumption of its naval blockade against Iran.
According to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the two vessels attempted to "run the blockade" approximately 17 hours after enforcement operations resumed. U.S. forces intercepted and redirected the ships, preventing them from reaching Iranian ports.
CENTCOM said its forces remain "vigilant and prepared to ensure full compliance" with the blockade, signaling continued enforcement efforts as tensions with Iran remain elevated. No further details about the vessels or their cargo were immediately released.
