TEHRAN, Jul 22: The United States launched a missile strike on Iran's Larak Island in the Persian Gulf on Wednesday, according to Iran's Revolutionary Guards-affiliated Tasnim News Agency, which reported that residents heard a loud explosion near the island.
Tasnim said Iranian authorities were assessing the extent of the attack, including the exact impact site and any resulting damage. The agency added that officials had not released details on the type of projectile used, its origin or the scale of the damage.
There was no immediate confirmation from US authorities regarding the reported strike.
