WASHINGTON: The White House said the U.S. military is fully prepared to defend American companies in the Middle East after Iran’s Revolutionary Guard threatened to target U.S. business interests in the region starting April 1.
A White House official said the military is ready to thwart any potential attacks, pointing to a sharp decline in missile and drone strikes as evidence of deterrence efforts.
The warning follows statements from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which said it would target a range of major U.S. firms in retaliation for attacks on Iran. Companies named reportedly include Cisco, HP, Intel, Oracle, Microsoft, Apple, Google, Meta, IBM, Dell, Planter, Nvidia, JP Morgan, Tesla, GE, Spire Solutions, G42, and Boeing
Separately, the US State Department issued an alert advising American citizens in Saudi Arabia to shelter in place until further notice. The department said it is tracking threats against locations frequented by U.S. nationals, including hotels, businesses, and educational institutions.
The developments come amid heightened tensions linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran, raising concerns about the safety of U.S. personnel and assets across the region.
