US issues worldwide travel alert amid rising Middle East tensions

WASHINGTON, Jul 23: The US State Department has issued a worldwide travel caution, warning American citizens of heightened security risks as tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate.

In an advisory released on Wednesday, the department said the regional security environment remains volatile, with the potential for further escalation that could affect US citizens and interests abroad.

The State Department urged Americans living in or traveling through the Middle East to exercise increased vigilance, monitor local developments, and prepare for possible flight disruptions and airspace closures.

It also warned that US diplomatic facilities have been targeted in recent incidents and said Iran and groups aligned with Tehran could target additional US interests overseas.

The advisory comes amid ongoing military tensions in the region and follows a series of US strikes against Iranian targets, prompting concerns over the possibility of retaliatory attacks and broader regional instability.
