US-Iran Peace Deal Could Be Finalized by Sunday As Pakistan Says MoU Being ‘Fine-Tuned’ as US-Iran Deal Nears Completion

WASHINGTON, May 23: Reports suggest that a potential US-Iran peace deal could be finalized by Sunday afternoon, according to The Washington Times, which cited a source close to the negotiations.

The report said a draft proposal to end fighting on all fronts was agreed early Saturday and sent to leadership in both countries for final approval. It added that top negotiators, including Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, US Vice President JD Vance, as well as Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, had already signed off on the draft agreement.

However, the report has not been independently verified by official US or Iranian sources, and key details of the proposed framework remain unclear.

Separately, Reuters reported that an MoU is being “fine-tuned” to end the US-Iran conflict, citing a Pakistani security official briefed on the visit of Pakistan’s army chief to Tehran.

The official said the visit had produced “significant progress” in discussions linked to Islamabad’s broader diplomatic engagement, adding that consultations were moving toward finalizing key points aimed at de-escalation and ending the war, though no formal agreement has yet been announced.
