WASHINGTON, April 26: U.S. naval interceptions have disrupted major Iranian oil shipments, with crude cargoes valued at more than $1 billion being forced back toward Iran, according to maritime monitoring firm TankerTrackers.

The firm said satellite imagery confirmed that several tankers carrying Iranian crude—estimated at around $1.05 billion—reversed course and returned to Iranian ports following rapid interdictions by the United States Navy.

Separately, the United States Coast Guard has seized additional Iranian oil shipments worth approximately $380 million in the Indian Ocean. Those cargoes are reportedly being redirected toward the United States.

The developments highlight escalating enforcement actions targeting Iran’s oil exports, a key source of revenue for Tehran, amid ongoing geopolitical tensions and efforts to curb illicit shipments.
