US Identifies Soldier Killed During Training Incident at Iraq Air Base

WASHINGTON, Jun 4: The US Department of War has identified the soldier who died in a training-related incident at Erbil Air Base in Iraq on May 31 as Devin A. Seibel, 26, of Robinson, Texas.

According to a statement released on Wednesday, Sergeant Seibel was assigned to the Air Ambulance Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Combat Aviation Brigade based at Fort Carson, Colorado. He was deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve at the time of the incident.

The circumstances surrounding the training accident have not been disclosed, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing. Military officials expressed condolences to Seibel’s family, friends, and fellow service members.
