CENTCOM, Apr 21: U.S. forces have boarded a sanctioned, stateless oil tanker in the Indo-Pacific as part of a crackdown on illicit maritime networks linked to Iran, according to the United States Department of Defense. The overnight operation targeted the vessel M/T Tifani and was carried out without incident under “right-of-visit” protocols in international waters. Washington said the move is part of broader enforcement efforts to disrupt ships allegedly supporting Iran, warning that sanctioned vessels will not find safe haven at sea and that U.S. forces will continue to interdict such networks wherever they operate.
