TAMPA, Aug 23: US forces have redirected 70 commercial vessels, disabled three and boarded two as part of efforts to enforce a US blockade against Iran, according to figures released as of August 23.

The operations are being carried out in the Arabian Sea, where the guided-missile destroyer USS John Finn (DDG 113) is supporting US military operations. The vessel is involved in monitoring maritime activity and enforcing compliance with the blockade, amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran.

The latest figures indicate that US forces have taken action against dozens of commercial vessels operating in the region. Of the vessels involved, 70 were redirected, three were disabled and two were boarded as US forces sought to ensure compliance with the blockade.

The operations add to growing military and maritime pressure on Iran, with US forces maintaining a presence in key waters surrounding the region and closely monitoring commercial shipping.
