WASHINGTON, July 20: US forces launched a new round of strikes against Iran at 4 p.m. Eastern Time (11 p.m. Kuwait Time) on Monday, following orders from the US Commander in Chief, according to a US military statement.
The strikes are aimed at further degrading Iranian military capabilities that have been used to target commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, the statement said.
The latest operation comes amid heightened tensions in the region and ongoing US efforts to protect maritime traffic and deter attacks on vessels transiting the strategic waterway.
