BAGHDAD, Jun 11: The US Embassy in Baghdad has urged American citizens in Iraq to exercise the highest level of vigilance and depart the country as regional tensions continue to escalate.
In a security advisory, the embassy warned that travel disruptions, including sudden airspace closures, could occur without prior notice due to recent developments in the region.
The embassy said the US mission in Iraq remains operational despite the ordered departure of some personnel. However, it reiterated that Iraq remains under a Level 4 “Do Not Travel” advisory, the highest warning level issued by the US government.
US officials advised citizens who remain in Iraq to closely monitor security updates and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions that could affect transportation and travel options.
