ABU DHABI, Jul 13: The United States has suspended consular appointments at its diplomatic missions in the United Arab Emirates for three days, citing the deteriorating regional security situation amid escalating military tensions in the Gulf.
In a statement, the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the U.S. Consulate General in Dubai said all consular appointments scheduled from July 13 to 15 had been cancelled.
"The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and US Consulate General in Dubai have cancelled consular appointments from July 13 to 15 due to the regional security situation. If you have an appointment on those dates, Americans should not come to the embassy or consulate, we will contact you to reschedule," the statement said.
