While a video of the US diplomat’s incident was widely circulated in the social media, the US embassy in Kuwait has thanked those who have sent reassuring messages about the health of the diplomat and speedy response from police and emergency medical services.

The US embassy said: “The accident happened on April 22, while the envoy was riding his motorbike on the Sheikh Jaber Bridge and was accidentally hit by a car. The driver of the car and a group of other motorists stopped to check the condition of Mr. Memott, called the ambulance and remained with him until the assistance arrived, and he was then transferred to a hospital, where he received treatment and was discharged and started his work the next day after undergoing medical checks.”

The Deputy Chief expressed his great appreciation for the rapid response he received from the Kuwaiti police, the ambulance staff and the excellent care of the medical staff, pointing out that he continues to perform his duties while he continues to fully recover.
