TAMPA, Jul 24: US Central Command (CENTCOM) said it has completed a 13th consecutive night of military strikes against Iran, targeting key military infrastructure as part of ongoing operations in the region.
In a post on X on Thursday, CENTCOM said the latest strikes hit military command centers, drone storage facilities, communications networks, coastal surveillance sites and maritime capabilities.
According to CENTCOM, the operations are intended to further reduce threats to civilian mariners and commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's busiest shipping routes.
The command said the Strait of Hormuz remains open and commercial shipping continues to pass through the waterway with support from US military forces.
CENTCOM also said that more than 50,000 US service members are currently deployed across the Middle East in support of regional operations.
