US citizen held with 7 kilos of marijuana – 11,000 drug pills found on Bedoun

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 8: An American citizen was arrested in Ahmadi area in possession of seven kilograms of marijuana, reports Al-Rai daily. According to security sources, officers from the Drugs Control General Department, acting on information and after conducting intensive investigations and taking all necessary legal procedures, raided the suspect’s apartment in Ahmadi area and arrested him in possession of the marijuana. When questioned, the suspect admitted to his involvement in drug peddling.

Meanwhile, a Bedoun man was arrested for his involvement in drug peddling, reports Al-Anba daily. Reportedly, the suspect was driving a luxury car down Al-Salmi road in opposite direction of the road when securitymen saw him and ordered him to stop. However, the suspect sped off and eventually crashed into three parked vehicles. Police approached him and checked his details to discover he is a Bedoun resident.

They checked his car and found 11,000 narcotic pills and some sharp objects. The suspect was referred with the contraband to the Drugs Control General Department for necessary legal action. And, for the second time in one week, customs officers at Kuwait International Airport foiled the attempt of an Egyptian passenger to smuggle narcotic pills into the country, reports Al-Rai daily. The passenger had appeared nervous when he approached the inspection desk, which had aroused the suspicions of customs officers. They checked his luggage and found 7,500 Tramadol pills hidden in his clothes.
