KUWAIT CITY, Jun 6: The United States has approved the sale of approximately $1.98 billion worth of counter-drone weapons and related defense systems to Kuwait, the US State Department announced on Friday.
According to the statement, the proposed deal will include anti-drone technology supplied by US defense company Anduril. A supporter of US President Donald Trump founded the company.
The State Department said the sale aligns with US foreign policy and national security objectives, adding that it will enhance Kuwait's security capabilities, which are described as a major non-NATO ally. It further noted that Kuwait has played an important role in promoting political stability and economic progress in the Middle East.
The deal reflects continued defense cooperation between Washington and Kuwait amid rising regional security concerns and growing demand for advanced counter-drone systems.
