Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with US Agency for International Development which will enable both nations to work even more closely to provide aid to countries in need, she said in an OpEd. As the fourth US-Kuwait strategic dialogue was previously launched, it brought the US and Kuwait even closer together, she said.

“We signed agreements to improve health care coordination, law enforcement cooperation, and humanitarian assistance around the world,” the Ambassador added. “The dialogue demonstrates the extensive breadth and depth of US-Kuwait relations and reinforces the undeniable fact that the United States and Kuwait are not merely steadfast allies but very close friends,” she added. As the world addresses the unprecedented challenges of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the US and Kuwait already have a longstanding medical relationship, she said.

By signing of the Health MoU between the two countries to enhance cooperation in the areas of public health, biomedical research, medical technology, and medical sciences, the ambassador said, Kuwait will enhance its healthcare to incorporate the latest scientific advances and developments. Regarding the legal efforts, the US and Kuwait are also cooperating through joint legal efforts to make both countries safer by signing the Declaration of Intent to negotiate a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty, she said. , (KUN)
