Kuwait Club delivered a commanding performance, defeating Al-Sahel 76-32 on Monday in Round 15 of the Basketball League. In the other matchup, Al-Qadsia overcame Al-Nasr 81-73.
With the victory, Kuwait Club maintained its perfect record, climbing to 30 points from 15 straight wins to remain firmly at the top of the standings. Al-Sahel stays bottom with 16 points.
Al-Qadsia strengthened its hold on second place with 27 points, while Al-Nasr remains sixth on 18 points.
Kuwait Club, Al-Qadsia, Kazma, and Al-Qurain have officially booked their places in the Final Four. The league follows a three-phase round-robin system, after which the top four teams advance to the semifinals, played in a best-of-three playoff format.
Despite resting its professional players, Kuwait Club had little trouble asserting control. The coaching staff gave opportunities to several young talents, including Ahmad Al-Rashid, Amir and Adam Assadallah, and Ammar Al-Eisa.
The youthful lineup rose to the occasion, with Amir leading the scoring with 14 points. Kuwait Club dominated every quarter — 36-9, 49-17, 64-17, and 76-32 — in a one-sided contest. Notably, Al-Sahel failed to score in the third quarter, underlining the vast gap between the two teams.
In the second game, Al-Qadsia took charge early against Al-Nasr and maintained its edge throughout, closing the quarters 23-16, 40-28, and 60-52 before sealing an 81-73 win. American professional DeQuan Jones starred for the “Yellow” side, finishing as the game’s top scorer with 22 points.
