KUWAIT CITY, Feb 26: In a decisive security operation, authorities have arrested a suspect found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, as part of intensified efforts to track down lawbreakers and safeguard community security.

The arrest followed meticulous surveillance, monitoring, and investigative work carried out by the Criminal Security Sector. Acting on confirmed intelligence, officers from the General Department of Criminal Investigation moved swiftly after securing the required authorization from the Public Prosecution.

A search of the suspect’s residence led to the discovery of an unlicensed firearm along with a quantity of ammunition — both held in clear violation of the law.

The suspect was immediately taken into custody, and the seized weapon and ammunition were confiscated. Legal proceedings have been initiated in preparation for referring the case to the competent authority.

Security officials stressed that the possession of weapons and ammunition without a valid license is a criminal offense punishable by law. They reaffirmed that security agencies remain vigilant and will continue pursuing any activity that threatens public safety, taking firm and deterrent action against violators.
