KUWAIT CITY, Mar 2: The governments of the United States, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates strongly condemned Iran’s missile and drone attacks targeting several Gulf states and other countries across the region, describing the strikes as a “dangerous escalation” that threatens regional stability.
In a joint statement issued Sunday night by the United States Department of State, the countries denounced what they called Iran’s “indiscriminate and reckless” attacks on sovereign territories throughout the region, including Iraq and Oman, in addition to several Gulf nations.
The statement said the “unjustified” strikes targeted sovereign territory, endangered civilians and damaged civilian infrastructure, stressing that targeting civilians and countries not involved in hostilities constitutes “reckless and destabilizing behavior.”
The signatories affirmed their unity in defending their citizens, sovereignty and territorial integrity, reiterating their right to self-defense in response to the attacks. They also reaffirmed their commitment to regional security and praised the effective cooperation in air and missile defense, which they said prevented far greater loss of life and more extensive destruction.
