KUWAIT CITY, Oct 23: The Commercial Court ruled in favor of an underage girl who was a victim of a telecommunication company’s contracts. The court affirmed that individuals below the age of 21 years do not bear civil responsibility concerning the contract signed between them and the telecommunication companies, says Al- Seyassah.

The court overruled a payment order worth KD 3,590 issued against the victim, and considered the order as if it was not issued at all. Hence, there will be no repercussions from the four contracts signed between her and a telecommunication company in the country.

Representing the girl was Lawyer Nasser Al-Bashir who called for the cancellation of the payment order issued against his client who is underage and does not bear legal responsibility of the contracts which she had signed with the telecommunication company in this regard due to the fact that the order was not declared as per article no. 169 of the litigation law. He indicated that the case will be referred to experts to liquidate the account between them and to determine the outstanding amount of each one in order to reach into final conclusion.
