UNITED NATIONS, March 11: The United Nations Security Council today overwhelmingly condemned Iran’s recent missile and drone attacks on multiple Gulf countries, adopting a resolution with a 13-0 vote. The draft, backed by over 130 member states, labeled the attacks on Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates as violations of international law and “a serious threat to international peace and security.”

China and Russia, two of Iran’s key allies, abstained from the vote, allowing the resolution to pass without exercising their veto powers. Bahrain’s U.N. Ambassador Janal Alrowaiei said the outcome sends a clear message that the international community rejects Iranian attacks against sovereign nations, which endanger stability in a region critical to the global economy, energy security, and international trade. The vote highlights Iran’s growing isolation amid ongoing retaliatory strikes by U.S. and Israeli forces.
