UN Chief Praises Pakistan’s Role in US-Iran Talks, Backs Ongoing Peace Efforts

ISLAMABAD, Apr 14: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone call on Tuesday with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, during which the United Nations commended Islamabad’s role in facilitating diplomatic engagement between the United States and Iran.

According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Guterres appreciated Pakistan for its “constructive role” in helping bring both sides to the negotiating table as part of broader efforts to promote regional peace and stability.

The UN chief also expressed the organization’s full support for Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at encouraging dialogue and de-escalation.

During the call, Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing diplomacy and dialogue as the preferred path to resolving regional tensions and ensuring long-term peace and stability.
